To adjust the choke on a 1978 350 4 barrel Chevy truck engine, turn the screw on the side of the carburetor. This screw is located in the side of the carburetor. Turning the screw to the right makes the choke open farther. Turn to the left to make the choke open less.

does it start without the choke? if it does you are probably flooding the engine with the choke readjust it

look on the left thingy and push down the thingy majig and swap it with the tweeker and there is the choke NEW ANSWER: There is no choke on fuel injected engines. Chevy quite using chokes back in the late 80s.
