there is a self adjusting mechanism fixed to the clutch pedal that actuates wen pedal is depressed taking up the slack in the cable compensating for clutch wear hope this is of help to you
You can't adjust a clutch in a 95 Escort because it has a hydraulic clutch.
You can't adjust the clutch on ANY Escort. They have hydraulic clutches with a master cylinder and a slave cylinder. However, if the clutch isn't releasing it can be bled of air.

There is not any adjustment on this clutch. Al you have to do is bleed the system.

the 97 escort has a hydraulic clutch. it uses brake fluid from the same system as the brakes. i dont think there is any adjustment possible. check your brake fluid level.
Hydraulic clutch on that model is not ajustable. You either have a bad clutch slave cylinder, Or the clutch and pressure plate needs replaced.
The adjustment is made on the clutch cable, near where it connects to the tranny.
If it does this in all gears, I bet your clutch is shot. Other things that could cause problems are the Clutch master cylinder or clutch slave cylinder.
