you don't, but they maybe making noise because their dirty, drain and fill your engine with ATF aka tranny fluid and run it for about 20 mins then change the oil to your regular type, along with a new filter, the atf cleans your engine extermely well

∙ 9y agoThe 1985 VW linkage has adjusting swivel nuts on each end of the linkage. Turn the swivel nuts to lengthen or shorten the linkage.
