What evidence might change scientist's minds about astrology?
Some information that would help: unambiguous evidence that there are systematic, independently verifiable differences in personality based on date and time of birth, and systematic, independently verifiable evidence that unambiguous and non-frivolous predictions made from astrological readings have later come true.

What evidence supports newtons ideas about gravity?
Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation makes very specific mathematical predictions about how objects move, whether they are falling objects, or thrown objects, or objects in orbit (such as planets or moons) and innumerable measurements have been made which confirm those predictions to a high degree of accuracy. Note that Newton's law is not perfect. Albert Einstein presented a new theory of gravity which gives even more accurate predictions.

Scientists know the universe is expanding because of the what?
The main evidence is the redshift of distant galaxies; the only sensible explanation is a cosmological redshift, related to an expanding Universe. Other pieces of evidence are the microwave background radiation, which agrees very well with the predictions made by the Big Bang theory, and Olber's paradox - among others.

Asked in Big Bang Theory (scientific model)
How would you respond to a person that argued that the Big Bang Theory is incorrect because it is only a theory and theories have no scientific evidence backing them up?
I would tell such people to pick up a dictionary and educate themselves about the definition of the word "theory". They don't get it yet. There are two distinct meanings and one of them is the scientific meaning. They are all hung up on the mainstream meaning and they are incorrect in applying it to scientific theory. Furthermore, to say there "no scientific evidence" backing up Big Bang Cosmology is like saying there is no scientific evidence to support Newton's Theory of Gravity. Both of these ideas make specific predictions of what we would observe if we did certain tests, rigourous experiments have been done to teset predictions from both, and the predictions made by both have proven to be true.

Asked in Evolution, Scientific Method
Is evolution science or hypothesis?
Evolution is both: it began as a hypothesis by a scientist who, after some research and thought on the matter, came up with the idea. Since then, that hypothesis has been recognised as a theory, as further evidence came to light supporting the idea and predictions - which were developed based on existing evidence and what the some of the gaps might be - were made, then tested and shown correct.

How can you predict data?
This is a process wherein a forecast of events is based on observation. Predictions can reliable only when there is regularity in the changes observed. Predictions are also safe if the variables can be controlled or if there are less variables that can possibly affect predictions. One can predict what is to happen at a certain time when predictions are based on observations and past experience. Predictions, therefore, can be within or beyond observed events. Interpolation is a prediction made based on observed data, while extrapolation is a forecast beyond observed data.
