You paste the map with the mod into the "modules" or "mod"-folder in the install directory. Then you choose it from the menu when you start the game.
moddb.com is good for mods. It has mount and blade mods and mods for virtually every other game.
You dont, spear bracing requires mods.
Unless you are playing with custom weapons mods, then no. There are a few pitchfork-like weapons, though, but they're quite weak. If you want tridents and other cool weapons, install one of the many Mount&Blade mods, found at the Taleworlds Forum

After you downloaded a mod from either talewords.com or some other site, go find the folder you downloaded and unzip it, then get the unzipped folder (if it's multiple folders create a new folder a put all the files in that folder) and place the folder in modules folder in mount and blade directory folder (usually something like C:\Program Files\Mount & Blade) Then launch the game and pick your downloaded from the dropbox and there you have it! :)

One can find the game Mount & Blade from Gamestop. Gamestop has both retail locations and an online store that the Mount & Blade game can be bought from.
Mount and blade can be downloaded at taleworlds.com, the download is free but you can only get so high of a level.
This is the stand-alone expansion to mount and blade, its a musket-based expansion.
Some of the cheat codes only work for Mount & Blade : Warband.
