If it is a wild animal it is best to contact your local DNR or vet to help it, they are usually best educated for helping an injured animal. and don't go near it because it make try to attack you because you are invading it.
NO! you would go to jail unless you injured that animal or really were living with a injured pet
If you encounter an injured animal you should contact a conservation office and tell where and when you saw it as soon as possible. Don't approach it as that could frighten it (maybe causing it to go into shock, injuring itself further or provoking a last stand attack). Keep track of the animal from a decent distance if you can until someone who can help it arrives.

Naturally? None. Injured? Almost any animal.
Answer: It depends on the behavior and temperment of the cat in question, but as a general rule, strange cats are not to be trusted. If you spot a cat on the street, do NOT approach it as it may be sick, frightened, injured, or just ill tempered. Instead, call a professional or your local animal shelter to come get the animal.
To report injured wildlife in your area, contact your local animal control, wildlife rehabilitation center, or wildlife conservation organization. They can provide guidance on how to safely assist the injured animal and ensure it receives proper care.

There are several scenarios for that, but the most likely is: The animal is hurt/injured and you want to help it. A hurt or injured wild animal - and some domestic ones - will consider attempts to help it as a threat, and it may attack you, if it's still able.
Take it to an animal expert. Then ask where the animal lives. Take it to a vet if it is injured. If it is not then put it back in its habitat
