Make sure you are not stressed before you begin to smoke. Make sure you're in a relaxed mind frame so you can enjoy the high rather than wish for it to be over. These are just some tips. Also make sure you are NOT on any psychiatric medications as to where this can really make you have a "bad high".
The mind set I always have is (and you cannot confuse this with being dependent on the drug) to get home from work and be very stressed and just mellow out for about 45 mins. Have a glass of whiskey, stretch a little bit, splash some water in your face. Once your body wants to smoke because you want to truly get high, not just rush into getting high you will never have a bad high.
