From a Christian perspective one way would simply be to know your Bible well and then you will be able to judge what is real truth and what is merely superstition.
The use of God-given mental ability can also help us discern commonsense ideas behind what have become superstitions (not to mention old wives tales), such as not walking under a ladder which cannot bring bad luck but it would bring unfortunate consequences if something fell on you head from above.
Some superstitions thus have a basis in fact but many do not and are of an occultic nature and should be avoided, or not treated with a respect they do not deserve.
In addition to this, many of these superstitions lead to a life of fear and bondage to avoiding all sorts of things lest it bring 7 years bad luck etc. Humans are meant to be free of such fears and that is what one can have if we make peace with our maker.
