Home-made playdoh, or playdough, the cooked type made from flour, salt, water, a pinch of cream of tartar, a little oil, and maybe colouring, will air-dry, harden and keep for a while.
If you're asking about commercially-sold playdoh you will need to check the label, or ask the store, or contact the manufacturers to find out if it can be baked.

There is no exact age range for Playdoh although children younger than 15 months should not play with it. Children will grow out of it at different ages but usually by the age of 4 or 5.
