How do poodles take baths?

Even though poodles are water dogs they probably will not enjoy taking a bath too much. The first step of any bath is to wet the dog. Depending on the amount of hair the poodle has it maybe difficult to wet the dog to the skin, poodles were bred to repel water. For the body of a small dog it maybe be easy enough to dunk it in water and massage it until it's wet (do not push it's head underwater!) but for most dogs the easiest way is to spray or pour water onto them. Try not to get water into the eyes, nose and especially the ears of the poodle you are washing. Dampness in floppy ears can cause infection. Next, soap the dog with a dog or puppy shampoo starting from the head. For longer hair you will really have to work it in, otherwise the dog may not be all the way clean. Like wetting, rinsing will likely be easiest by pouring or spraying water onto the poodle. On a long haired dog this will take a long time, be sure to get all the soap out. If they haven't already your dog is likely to shake to dry off. of you are washing your dog in the bathroom you may want to take precautions; water can get everywhere

Long haired guinea pigs don't NEED a bath but it is good for them if you bathe them every 1-3 months depending on how dirty or tangled their fur is and dont need their face and ears cleaned as they do that themselves.

How do you bathe a poodle?

Bathing a poodle is easy. Items you will need; Johnston baby shampoo or equal, two large towels, blow dryer (if it's cold) You can use your bath tub, laundry sick, kitchen sink according to the size of your poodle. Fill tub or sink with Luke warm water, put dog in, get him all wet (remember, poodles fur is water repellent, resistant and won't become heavy with water) pour some shampoo on your dog, massage it around evenly. Similar to how humans wash their hair. Don't get water in your dogs ears. Wash it's face carefully but not much soap. I would do his face last thing. Let the water out of sink, rinse until there is no more soapy feeling. Rinse under dogs arm pits too and it's bottom. Now, dry off your dog. He will be very frisky after his bath and want to shake and run all around, better keep the bathroom door shut till you dry him well.
