How do you wear school uniforms with style?

what i do is wear all black and i also wear jewlery, rings, shoes, and paint my nails black. so you can just take that little piece of information and put it to good use.

that's all very well if you go to a school where you're allowed that, but at our school, the uniform is set, with not much black clothing. The shoes are part of the uniform, and combat boots aren't part of it... Jewelery + rings are banned, painted nails banned also. And guess what? make up is too.

If this is your problem also, this is what you can do:

Your schoolbag is your choice. You can go as wild with this as you like. So go wild.

Outrageous hair colors are banned, but black isn't banned, and you are allowed some outrageous streaks of color.

You can normally get away with jewellery if it is hidden or at least not hanging openly, and schools have to allow jewellery of religious or personal signifigance. Come up with a few good reasons why your piece of jewellery fits into that category, and then talk to your principal about it. Nicely. Politely. Lay on the charm.

And don't forget, thinking that being goth is just about the style is for wannabe's. It's a state of mind, dahl. Show your gothism through your actions, by being an individual, walking away from a fight, refusing violence, being polite. Don't stereotype and label, and tell others not to do this also.

Listen openly to gothic music, if you like gothic music. This is a good way also.

Also check your posture, keep your skin clean and healthy, take care of yourself.

Read a few gothic books, again, only if you like that style of writing.

Just a few little things like this can show it. Try it. :)

Don't obey the rules, muck around in class, get detentions. If you want to be a rebel then you mustn't be scared of getting told off. If you wear uniform then don't have your top button up, don't have your shirt tucked in and wear a very short tie. You may get in trouble but if you want to be one a rebel then do these things.

accesorize, just barely follow the rules, basically make urself stand out. (ex: wear a hot pink tank under ur white blouse, and unbutton the blouse low)

Pop a collar or losen a tie. Just simple little things that pop out and make a totally edgy statement.
