the only way to beat the first one is to counter attack which you do by locking on to the guard by pressing L1 on ps3 Lb on xbox than you hold R1 on ps3 Rb on xbox then click square on ps3 X on xbox when the guard try's to attack and it will kill him instantly or in a few of counter attacks depends on how powerful your sword is and it blocks attacks real goodly i beats it easily. If your about to die in combat just run around in circles till your life refills.

To solve Assassin's Creed II, all you need to do is find all the view points in the game first. Tjis will show the locations of the stores. In each new town, you can buy newer items and maps to treasures, only the feathers you must find yourself. As for the unique puzzles from locating glyphs, there is only the database clue once you locate the structure which contains it. Search the structure to find the glyph using your eagle vision to unlock a puzzle. Solve each puzzle to unlock "The Truth". They might seem like very difficult puzzles at times, but every puzzle has a clue, hidden or otherwise and often you can get help from outside the animus.

Some secret locations will appear on your map where you need to figure out how to reach areas (very much like Prince of Persia) to find seals which eventually unlocks a great suit of armor, but there are secrets wrapped in enigmas in this game, so best to just plan an extensive search of all areas.

Apart from the tricky puzzles and obscure locations of feathers and glyphs and any areas you might find impossible to get to will be revealed by getting skills from people who train you with new moves to get higher, hit harder, avoid attack, etc. as well as revealed along the storyline.

It seems hard at first because you don't possess the skills needed to do certain things. but all is eased upon you as you progress along the story. Since the game is mostly sandbox and you don't have any need to rush to the next step of the story, you are free to roam around (barriers withstanding based on your progress) and locate anything you've missed. Even when you finish the main story, you will have the opportunity to roam all areas you've discovered until you are satisfied you have found everything.

I hope you will enjoy the game as I did immensly. I've never played such a game with multiple moves, many locations and such indepth secrets. Even if you played the game in full English, you can't help but pick up a little bit of Italian.

But seriously, you can't really 'beat' the game. When you finish the plot, you can play on indefinitely. You're considered to have beaten it when you reach 100% synchronization- which is when you collect all of the treasure chests, feathers, statues, weapons, armor, upgrades, and everything else available as well as having completed all of the quests in the game (optional and compulsory).
