Turn off your computer and start it again. As soon as it begins to start, you should see the BIOS screen flash up. It usually has the name of the hardware manufacturer somewhere on it (such as intel, dell, gateway etc...). On it, it will display the function key that you may press to enter the boot config menu. It's usually F10, F11, or F12. Occasionally it will be F2. this screen will appear for a very short time so you will have to pay close attention. once in the boot config menu, it should be fairly simple. use the arrow keys to select your CD drive and be sure to save your changes when you exit. Your computer should then boot from the CD.
1. get or create a bootable CD/DVD
2. change the bios on your computer to boot from the CD/DVD
Booting your computer from a CD requires that the CD be in the disk drive at startup. From there, many computers automatically read the CD in order to start up.
Modify the BIOS to boot from the CD
if your first boot device is an optical drive, this allows you to boot from a recovery disk or live CD in case of hard drive failure or corruption. This can be useful for troubleshooting computer problems.
Because, you didn't choose the CD drive like a bootable, or the CD disk is not bootable.

I have a windowsXP boot CD .Iso that is available on my website for download. second i can make you a boot CD for you of any operating system. I don't know if you know what an iso file is but its and image that is copied off of a CD and made into a file onto your computer. you use Dameon tools lite to mount the image to a DVD drive and the computer recognizes it as a CD and playes it. For example i am currently playing Battlefield 2 off an iso file that was given to me by a friend and i don't have to worry about losing the disk! anyway if you are intrested in downloading a boot disk for FREE email me at gaudettemichael3@gmail.com and id be happy to assist you with any wuestions you may have my website is http://www.prosetups.yolasite.com THANKS!

The Ultimate Boot CD website consists of a download to the Ultimate Boot CD software, a forum, and a wiki. The download's purpose and features are listed on the page.
First thing is, the CD has to be a 'Bootable CD'.Change the 'First/Primary boot device' in the bios setting to 'CD ROM'. Ususally it will be floppy disk, by default. Insert the bootable CD into the CD drive. That's it!!
You can and it will load but it will tell you that there is an error because the CD is meant for Dell only. You will need an E-Machine CD to boot or have some sort of Hirens Boot CD which can be downloaded for free by Googling it by name

A CD-ROM drive is not needed to boot the computer. Just put the hard drive first in the boot order in the BIOS.
It will first boot from CD if available and then from hard disk. If you need to install any operating system or want to boot from CD, you need to enable this option.
press f12 in the start up screen and that will access the boot menu. in the boot menu arrow key down and select your CD drive. enter and your booting to the CD. hope this helps.
