Tell him you want to be friends with him, but you don't want to be boy friend and grilfriend. Don't tell him this online because that would sting. (Or on the phone because people tend to say things on the phone they wouldn't say to his face.) Also, after you break up with him don't talk about it with your friends. Unless he likes the attention, it would hurt his feelings.

well don't tell him you want to be friends if you dont want to. just tell him you are done being in a relationship and make sure you tell him to his face and dont have a friend do it its just plane mean.

∙ 15y agoThis is tough one, because there is a wrong way to do, a right way to do it but no easy way. Talk to him about it, face to face, even though it might be harder it is the better, more respectful way to do it. You said that he's nice, so tell him you think he's a really nice guy, and he hasn't done anything to hurt or upset you (unless he has) you just don't think you two were meant to be. Tell him you'd love to be friends because you think he;s reallly nice, but just because someone is nice that doesn't mean you were a match made in heaven! Be nice to him, because he will probably be really sad. Tell him you don;t resent him, and you want to be friends just not dating. And if, down the track, he gets a new girlfriend, don't be jealous and try to break them up - after all, you let him go!

∙ 15y agoyou tell him you're not ready for a relationship just yet and say you'll stay friends with one another. or you can tell him you've got things to sort out and you need a break from everything, also include that you guys can visit other people while on the break. and then after a while, figure out if you wanna date again or stay best friends! it worked for me, so hopefully this will help you!
