DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER DOGS DIE! Go to a doberman rescue or to a shelter and adopt. 1 in 10 dogs born finds a forever home, and EVERY hour of EVERY day 800 pets are euthanized nationwide. I agree. Although I love the breed, I wouldn't breed unless you are experienced. Learn about it but also realize that why you are bringing in new life, there is life leaving because there are too many shelter dogs. A shelter Doberman is just as good as a Doberman that was bred. ~Jessica~

Doberman
The Doberman Pinscher is a German breed and was first bred by Louis Dobermann (hence the breed's name).
The Doberman is named, after the person named Karl Louis Doberman who is credited with developing the breed.
The Doberman Pinscher was named after the breed founder, Louis Dobermann. The word ''Pinscher'' was added as it is German for Terrier. However, as the Doberman Pinscher is not actually a Terrier, the word ''Pinscher'' has been dropped from the name in the UK and is called the ''Dobermann'' instead. In other countries the name has stayed as ''Doberman Pinscher'' although the breed has very little Terrier blood and is not classed in the Terrier breed Group.
It's a beagle miniature doberman mixed.
To me it would have to be the doberman or the bull terrier.

Question doesn't make sense. "Police dog" is a job description. "Doberman" is a breed. A police dog may well be a Doberman. Or an even bigger dog.
In the first place, humans created the Doberman (or any other dog breed). Secondly, a Doberman depends on his human owner, he can't survive in the wild. Lastly, humans tend to crop the ears and dock the tails of the Doberman to match the breed standard.
In my opinion the Doberman..
