Put the male and female together and leave them alone for awhile. You will know when they bred because they will twist around to where it looks like the two dogs rear ends are stuck together. After awhile the male will release the female. The day they bred is called the whelping date. About 2 months after whelping, the female should have her babies. Keep the male away from the babies, as the mother will be aggrassive towards another animal, and maybe even you if you startle her. *Never reach for a newborn puppy until the mother smells you and lets you near one. Just because she knows who you are does not mean she will let you around her newborn babies. Mother dogs are very protective.* NOTE: The female and the male should not be newly introduced during the breeding. Make sure the dogs are familiar of each other so the female won't feel nervous and try to hurt the male.
