You want to build a destroyer or battleship from wood?
1. A destroyer is a scaled down look alike of a battleship (by WWII standards); during the Russo-Japanese War in 1904 they looked entirely different, and destroyers were called "torpedo boat destroyers". After the Russo-Japanese War torpedo boat destroyers were called destroyers.
2. (WWII) Battleships were the largest, Cruisers the next largest, and Destroyers were the smallest warships (discounting patrol boats, carriers, and submarines). But (during WWII) the BBs (Battleships), CAs (Heavy Cruisers), and DDs (Destroyers) basically looked similiar, just a difference in their sizes (and gun calibers), and number of sailors inside them (called complement).
3. If you want to build a DD or BB from wood first you must decide whether or not you want a static display model or a Radio Controlled (R/C) model warship.
4. If you want a static display model, then you can build it from a solid block of wood. If you want a R/C model, it must be hollow; plank built with a keel, etc. Solid blocks of wood CRACKs over time; planked ships generally will not crack.
5. The very best wooden vessels are hollow built. And radio & motors can be installed in them for RC.
6. Order a set of plans from Taubmans Plans (most likely owned by another company by this time, but still called Taubmans). Purchase "aircraft grade" model airplane plywood and cut the frames out after tracing them onto the wood from the plans (the paper plans have to be cut up for this).
7. Glue the cut parts together by using a quick drying glue (available from hobby shops, use the purple capped bottle, it's the most commonly used glue, it has a spray purchased separately which dries it in seconds/wear rubber gloves/this glue is powerful enough to stick to your fingers permanently). Then plank your model until done. Guns can be made from brass tubes also bought from hobby stores; sleeved barrels should be soldered and the completed guns expoxied into the wooden turrets. When theres nothing left to do, your destroyer or battleship is done.
The destroyer rode up alongside the battleship to refuel.
There are two names. The destroyer or the patrol boat
Battle ship is a generic term which means ships designed to be used in wars. A destroyer is a type of battleship
Japanese battleship Aki was created on 1911-03-11.
it was a 'pocket battleship', because of treaty restrictions, Germany could not build battleships, so it was the size of a cruiser but with the armament of a battleship.
carrier, battleship, cruiser, destroyer, submarine
A cruiser. This is the medium sized warship; the "Tin Can" (destroyer) is the smallest warship.
There were five ships... -Carrier -Destroyer -Battleship -Submarine -Support ship
The destroyer rode up alongside the battleship to refuel.
There are two names. The destroyer or the patrol boat
Discounting carriers and patrol boats & subs. Largest to smallest: Battleship, Cruiser, Destroyer. But, they did evolve also; a Russian battleship from the Russo-Japanese War in 1904 was 397 feet long and a WWII US destroyer of the Fletcher class was 376 feet long. Another words, a US WWII Fletcher class destroyer was nearly as big as a battleship in 1904.
In the game Battleship, the largest ship is the Aircraft Carrier. It covers 5 grid spaces. The Battleship covers 4, the Cruiser 3, the Submarine 3, and the Destroyer 2.
Battle ship is a generic term which means ships designed to be used in wars. A destroyer is a type of battleship
A destroyer is a small fast warship armed with 5 inch guns. A battleship is any class of warship but equipped with the most powerful armament. In former times or days of sail, a battleship was known as a 'line of battle ship', large enough to take part in the main attack, carrying 74 guns or more
Hmmm seven types of warship perhaps .... Submarine, Corvette, Destroyer, Cruiser, Battle Cruiser, Battleship, Aircraft Carrier

The Woodcraft Folk was created in 1925.
