Maybe. Dual layers just means it can read 2 layers of a disc.
DVD-SuperMulti Dual Layer
DVD+R is a recordable optical disc. The first dual layer DVD+R that was created was in the year 2003. The disc was demonstrated that double layer technology could be used with a DVD+R disc to nearly double the capacity per disc.
You have two options for this. Note that 7.2 GB is more than the storage capacity for a regular/single-layer blank DVD disc which store a maximum of 4.7GB or data. First options is, burn the 7.2 GB using a dual-layer blank DVD disc, which has 16GB storage capacity. Second is, compress the 7.2 GB using a compression software such as winrar or similar to less than 4.7 GB then you can burn it using a /single-layer blank DVD disc.
No.
A dual-layer Blu-Ray disc can hold up to a maximum of 50 gigabytes, and that is 5 times more data than a dual-layer DVD can hold
yes
The Verbatim Dual Layer disc has two AZO recording layers on a single sided disc, providing nearly double the storage capacity of standard DVD R discs. Verbatim dual Layer discs are approved for high speed burning, up to 6X speed, allowing storage for up to 8.5GB of video.
Dual Layer is a term for the DVD discs and the PS3 uses Blue Ray Discs that do not need the dual layer to hold many times the information. It was said that the Xbox 360 was not dual layer, but I can not see how it would matter unless a person wanted to try and make illegal copies
First, I want to know what software you used to burn dvd, what video formats you have burned, the model of the DVD Player,
Your drive has to specify if it can do dual layer or not. There is no automatic distinction. Check the manufacturer's website or the literature that came with your drive. My DVD burner, an external DVD burner by DIGISTOR - burns 8X in single layer and 6X in dual layer. This specific capability is usually written out on the specs list of your drive. You can also check the burn speeds list - if anything there has the suffix "DL", that would mean "dual layer" - for example, if it says 8X DVD-R/DL - that means it burns in 8X speed for DVD-R, and also 8X in Dual Layer mode.
Some DVDs are dual-layered, allowing twice the data to be stored on a single disc. The data is written into an extra layer in the disc itself, not on the back. A double layer-drive is a device that allows the reading and, depending on the model, recording of these discs.
