I recently found a snail in a shell that I was cleaning the sand out for display. (really nice shell, too...) I found a living baby ocean snail in it, and heard they cannot live in regular water. So I ground up some ocean salt and put it in a small glass container. I released him to the same spot within a week. If it is impossible for you to put him in the same spot, simply put him on a rock near the ocean or near a lake. try not to pick them up too much.
Lobsters and Crabs, octopus, Sea Anemones, and sea spiders eat snails in the ocean. A variety of fish also eat snails in the ocean.
