To catch a skink, you need patience and practice. They are very quick and hard to catch, so its a good question to ask. Try setting up a trap that won't hurt it. If your trap works, and you have caught a skink, good work!
I have a pet skink and I get all the information about looking after him properly from the site posted in the related links.
For those who think that they are pests, and that killing them is the best, please consider that animals and insects have lives that are as valuable to them as yours is to you.
With your own bare hands? (not that I'm recommending you to do so)
be very quiet and dont let your small sister make any noise . approach it from the back and also dont step on the tail ! keep the bottle or box in which you want to catch the lizard . at the back of the tail and very slowly shut it in the box . or if you want to catch it by surprising it put the box slowly opto the position you want to slam shut the lizard and you caught the lizard . and a tip do this while you sit cus the lizard can see you if you are standing.
you just grab it and do whatever you want with it
1) fined a skink
2) if you see one nere its home waite till the skink is at least 2 inches from its home.(don't give up):)
3)sneak up on the skink and slowly move your hand toward the skink and about 2 inches away snach it.(if possible come from behind because they cant see from behind)
4)once you have the skink quickly hold the mouth the skink might bite.
The best way to catch a skink is by quick action. If a skink is free running, forget it. You will most likely catch its sacrificial tail! If you wish to capture one, you must turn over whatever it is under, such as a log or cross tie, being sure to keep the log between you and the lizard. As soon as you see the lizard, be ready to put your hand completely over it from the top, pinning it to the ground.. Make sure no harmful critters are in the immediate vicinity or you might get nailed by something else! When you have the skink secured, hold it in your closed palm. That keeps the skink from shedding its tail, being that it is both in the dark and not being threatened from one end or the other.
There is nothing on the market for that and they are pretty docile. your best bet is to trap and relocate if you have a den on your property. if not, see what food it is there that they are after and eliminate it so they go elsewhere.
Get a cardboard box or something and lure it in with crickets
Most pro services use a havahart cage. Put a tarp over it so you don't get sprayed if you get a catch & then relocate it.
You can't
Blue-tailed Skink was created in 1888.
they have legs
Actually, they are there because of an adequate food supply of insects. Catch them and take them outside. You might explore the outer parameters of your home to see if there is a way that they are getting into the house.

No, blue-tailed skinks are not endangered, but blue-tailed mole skinks are. These are a limited area variety, and are not the common blue-tailed skink that seem to be everywhere here around my house in Missouri.
They are carnivores and eat insects.
