if you are any kind of good trainer you would not get a yanma, i mean come on, Yanma? unless you are searching for it to complete your collection don't waste your time. if that is the case buy Pokemon Colosseum and a game link (and game cube if you don't have one) and trade it from there. you would have to beat Colosseum and get the thing to power up the machine on 1 island, so it's your call. I'm pretty sure yanma's not in kanto.
After you get the National Pokedex, go to the Great Marsh in Pastoria City.
you have to have the national dex. if you do have it use pal park or great marsh.

To get a Yanmega you have to evolve your Yanma. You can do this by teaching it the move Ancient Power, which it will learn on level 33. If you don't have a Yanma they can be found in the Safari Game.
Yanma can't be found in Pokemon FireRed or Pokemon LeafGreen; it is strictly a fourth generation Pokemon.
You'll need to trade for it from Pokemon LeafGreen or Pokemon FireRed.
Yanma doesn't evolve in any of the GBA games. It only evolves in Diamond, Pearl or Platinum.

You cannot get a Yanma in Pokemon Emerald, as only Hoenn Region Pokemon can be found in Pokemon Emerald.
Yanma can sometimes be found on Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum in the Great Marsh in Pastoria City. You could also catch and evolve a yanma from HeartGold or SoulSilver (found on Route 35 during a swarm) and trade it over to your Pokemon Diamond version. Yanma evolves once it learns AncientPower. You can obtain yanma on Firered or Leafgreen version in Ruin valley and migrate it over to your Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum version have it learn AncientPower...and there you have it, you're very own yanmega.
Yanma can only learn Ancient Power in D/P (Diamond and Pearl), not in FR/LG.
You can find Yanma in Pokémon Diamond in the Great Marsh.
