All you need is a medium flat blade screwdriver (about 4-6mm) and a pair of pliers.
Using the screwdriver, insert it at the passenger end of the wiper (in Right Hand Drive countries, I don't know which end for Left Hand Drive), in the gap between the blade and the end-cap. Twist and pop the end cap off.
Now there is a soft metal pin on the top, poking into the rubber to hold it in place. Prise this pin up out of the rubber.
Slide the insert out, pop in your favourite generic wiper insert (I used Trico Multi-edge Premium), trim to length, push the pin back down with the pliers, and pop the end cap back on.
The 2005 Chevrolet Silverado Series Pickup takes 22" replacement windshield wiper blades on both sides front.
I highly recommend replacing the entire wiper blade. See related links below. This only takes about 1 minute.
I recommend replacing the entire wiper blade assembly (commonly called wiper blades) since you can get them relatively inexpensively, they are easier to find and installation is very easy. You can do the refill inserts, but they are harder to find and much more tedious to install.Step 1 is to be sure you get the right replacement parts. The 2005 Ford Freestyle takes 24" drivers side, 20" passenger side and 13" rear replacement windshield wiper blades. I do not see refill inserts listed in aftermarket parts guides, so I'm assuming those must be bought at the Ford dealership. There are aftermarket refills available for the rear wiper however.Step 2: As far as installation, the replacement wiper blades will come with simple-to-follow, step-by-step, illustrated instructions.
William Blades was born on 1824-12-05.
Ray Blades died on 1979-05-18.
Paul Blades was born on 1965-01-05.
Secret of the Silver Blades was created on 1990-05-18.
John Blades Clarke died on 1911-05-23.
The 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix has the most common hook-end wiper arms. See sources and related links below for installation videos. Also, purchase the replacement blades first and there will be additional instructions/illustrations on the replacement packages. Locate and press the tab or button where the wiper blade is inserted into the hook of the wiper arm and pull wiper blade out of hook. You may have to rotate and flex the blade to make enough clearance for the hook to pass through.
You have to remove the rear wiper arm, which is simple. Pop off the cap at the bottom of the wiper arm where it attaches to the spindle. If you wrap your fingers around and under it and pull the edges out it will pop off. Remove the nut and then remove the arm. See sources and related links below to see how to remove the wiper blade from the arm and also for information on the special rear wiper blade that's hard to find in stores.
.05 = 5/100
I changed the question from 2001-2005 to 2002-2005 because there was a generation change in there. In other words 2001 is different than 02-05. 2002-2005 Honda Civic Sedans and Coupes have different sizes (so take note of that). See sources and related links below and punch in the exact make, model year and the page will explain better than I can explain.
