The bulbs, you can just reach in the back and pop them out, but I know that if youre actually trying to replace the headlight units themselves, you have to take off the front bumper. I have 2006 2.0t and it's the biggest inconvenience. First take off the 2 front wheels, pull back the fender liner, remove the bottom plastic skid plate, remove the bumper then take out the headlights.
