How to replace:
Fuel Filter//Fuel Pump//Fuel Pump Strainer
in a Hyundai Tiburon 2006 GS
BASICLY: These parts are located inside the gas tank. You can easily access the top of the tank by removing the back seat. There is a circular disk in the middle that you remove to reveal the tank.
Step #1 REMOVE THE BACK SEAT CUSHION
There are two bolts holding the back of the seat in place. The quickest way I found was to use a socket wrench with an extension, and also to bend the back seat forward about halfway. There is one on each side.
Step #2 ACCESS THE TOP OF THE TANK
There is a cover that can easily be pried off located in the middle of where the seat was. It's black and oval.
Once you remove it you will see a cap. There are nine screws holding this cap on place. I would recommend using a socket, and not a screwdriver to remove them. You will also have to remove the tubes and wires from the cap too.
*NOTE* You must find a way to remove the pressure from the fuel line. You can turn the car on and let it run until it turns off if you'd like. Else, you are going to have about a cup of gas spill in your car.
Pull of the cover, and the whole assembly will come out. Find your piece, and you are all set.

From a Hyundai dealer technician- there is no serviceable fuel filter on the 2003 Sonata. The filter is a "lifetime" strainer on the fuel pump in the fuel tank. It would be replaced with the replacement of the fuel pump only. how do you replace fuel pump on the 2003 sonata
