What is a SAM turret?
Seeing as this is a black ops question lets answer this in the way of the game. SAM turrets are a 4 killstreak ( 3 with hardline). IT can shoot down all kinds of air assets ( e.g. Spy planes, counter spy planes and even chopper gunners and gunships. Hide it in a quiet place on the map where it has a clear view of the sky. It will work automatically. IT can get knifed by an enemy and it gets destroyed instantly if so. This is why you need to hide or protect it , seeing as the turret itself doesnt protect itself. The turret gets dropped like a care package and so the delivery chopper could get shot down by an enemy SAM turret. HAVE FUN! ;)

If you place it underneath an overhang the explosion could kill you if the rocket hits the overhang.
