You will need a flat head screw driver, wrench and extra rags for spillage. Your going to need a torxs set, remove the two fuel lines make sure you have rags under Neath you while working. Then disconnect the electrical connection which is a small plug. There should be a black plastic in the center probably a water separator, the electrical senser pulls out the old filter. Replace the old rings with the blue rings that are provided. At this step please add diesel fuel to the rings. The new filter drops right in they are the same size.
