Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Disconnect the condenser to evaporator line spring lock coupling.
Discard the O-ring seals.
Remove the suction accumulator/drier.
Remove the nuts and reposition the manifold absolute pressure sensor and bracket (7.3L diesel).
Remove the nuts and reposition the vapor management valve and bracket (5.4L and 6.8L).
Loosen the clamps and remove the intercooler tube (7.3L diesel).
Remove the screws and remove the evaporator core housing support bracket.
Remove the 11 screws, release the 3 retaining tabs and remove the evaporator core cover.
Remove the evaporator core.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Install new O-ring seals lubricated in clean PAG oil.
Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil.
Evacuate, leak test and charge the A/C system.

I wouldn't mess with it if it's a crank sensor. While they are easy to put on if it's anything like newer Chevy's the relearn can ONLY be done at a dealer. I would look into that first because if it is the same, there is no way you are going to get it to run.

Change the faulty bulb.
The evaporator in the '03 Silverado is under the dash on the passenger side. Unfortunately to replace it, you have to remove the front dash. This is probably one where you will need to take it into the shop.
The way you change the serpentine belt is be decreasing the pressure on the tensioners. There are key pressure points you should press to release the belt.
The gem module on an 03 Ford Explorer is under the dash. It is just to the left of the radio.
