1. Pop the hubcap (if applicable) to get access to the lugs (use a screwdriver or hubcap tool).
2. Use lug wrench to break them loose while vehicle on ground.
3. Block the opposite tire
4. Now use jack to raise corner in question just enough for the tire to clear the ground. (Most new cars have a scissor or bottle jack. In either case just insert handle & turn to raise. Use frame near wheel in question or a-arm if front.)
5. Remove lugs/tire.
6. Put on spare.
7. Thread lugs as far as you can until wheel turns.
8. Lower car until tire gets enough contact with ground to stop from turning.
9. Fully tighten lugs. This will allow wheel movement towards drum/rotor.
10. Now drop all the way (recheck torque after 25 miles or have a friend double check at your next stop).

NOTE: Some lug nuts have a left-handed thread. Look on the end of the wheel stud and if you see an "L," it is a left-handed thread. In that case you would turn the lug wrench clockwise to remove them.

First rule: Always keep a spare tire for that special occasion. Step 1 -Use a power wrench to remove the lug nuts. Step 2 -Raise your car with aa jack on a flat surface. Step 3 -Check for proper fit of wheels. If not correct it. Remove rust, and stud clips. Step 4 -

To change a flat tire, park your car on a flat surface, apply the parking brake, and place a wheel chock under the opposite wheel. Loosen the lug nuts, jack up the car, remove the lug nuts and the flat tire, then replace with the spare tire, tighten the lug nuts, lower the car, and double check the lug nuts.
