It depends on the type of cavalier motor you have. If the 96 cavalier tranny has no dipstick then you will have to change the computer as well the 95. It's not worth it, find something in the 95,97,98,99,00 models.

Yes it will bolt right up but u will obviously have to change your flywheel and maybe even the axles
You will need to pull either the transmission or the engine. The flywheel is attached to the back of the engine, to the output side of the crankshaft. If it is a manual transmission, you will need to align the clutch to the pilot bearing before you tighten the pressure-plate.
