if you are going to change the oil filter you should change your oil at the same time.
step 1: place you car on a level surface because you may have to jack it up
step 2: remove the oil cap on top of your engine
step 3: remove the oil drainage plug and drain the oil
step 4: be careful when unscrewing the oil filter because oil will drip out (you should be able to remove the filter by hand, if not use pliers to unscrew it and since your not reusing it dont worry about damaging the old filter)
step 5: fill the new oil filter with new oil and lube the rubber seal with oil
step 6: screw on the new oil filter hand tight (this will be easier if you purchase the oil filters with grip pads)
step 7: install in the drainage plug
step 8: lower the car and pour in new oil one quart at a time checking the oil level in between each quart.
