5.6l (3.0 litres @ fluid change)
It is hidden behng the front engine mount and oil filter at the front of the engine. http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1477637 Just about to try this today as mine is faulty too. New sensor cost £37 from my local Unipart supplier
It's deff not fun to do man. Will smoke or moisture out of exhaust oil will be on side of engine from it leaking off.
NO.An oil change will not harm the sensor.
Depending on the engine it could be on or very close to the oil filter housing, or on the cylinder head at the back of the engine (towards gearbox). Easy to spot it has only one wire attached to it.
change the oil pump sensor.
Use an open end wrench.
The viscosity of your oil may affect the oil light. A light weight oil (5W30) can trip the sensor. If you notice the problem at idle, try switching to a heavier oil next time you change.

The oil temp sensor is located just above the oil filter..To change just unscrew the old sensor and screw in the new sensor , then reconnect the wires .. You should use a sealant on the threads that is sensor safe so you have a good ground..WW
That's oil pressure, not level. Low oil, bad pump, loose bearings, bad sensor. If it really is low, fix it or destroy your engine.
just aside of the oil filter, threaded into the bottom front of block.
