I changed mine yesterday. It's a 2001 model but should be the same. Take off the engine top cover then on the RHS of the engine there's a circular black metal assembly with about 8 pipes connected into it. Using an Allen key or drain plug hexagonal key, unscrew the top bolt then move the top assembly with the hoses still attached to one side. With a Phillips no.2 screwdriver, unscrew the clamp around the filter then pull clear (may have to loosen it a bit with a flat screwdriver). Careful to catch any spills of fuel as they can damage the hoses. Fit the new one in the reverse order then check for leaks.

Mine's running much better now, should've changed it earlier rather than relying on the recommended service interval!!
