Just changed one yesterday. On the wagoneer fuel pump there are two bolts that attach the unit to your engen block and a metal fuel line make sure all of the hoses are unattached, then remove the two bolts holding the unit to the block it is easier if you climb under the Jeep to do this as there is more room and you can see better. The fuel pump is located on the right hand side of the block just below the distributor area. it wil be difficult to pull the unit out if the metal hose is still attached, but still workable. i was unable to remove mine before i pulled the unit out so i had to detach it after the unit was removed when you replace the part there should be a diagram that comes with the new unit if you purchased your new. if not then you are supposed the attach the bolt closer to the fan first and the other that way it lines up inside of you block corectly.
If it has a 360 motor the mechanical fuel pump is located below the distributor. there could be an after market electrical fuel pump located near the tank. these answers are based upon my 89 grand wagoneer with a 360. The fuel pump on an 88 Wagoneer is in the fuel tank itself.

You must remove the fuel tank in order to replace the fuel pump.

Its a manual / mechanical fuel pump. To check it remove it a look inside. It will be obviouse if its bad. More importantly if its running its not bad. There are no injectors on a 87 Grand Wagoneer. Its corroborated.
It is a mechanical fuel pump located on the engine. It is in the drivers side front below the distributor.

if it has the 360 engine look on below and behind the distributor. you can follow the fuel line from the carb to it.
The fuel pump relay of a 1983 Chevy Camaro can be found inside the relay fuse block. It provides power to the fuel pump.
Change the fuel filter first. If that doesn't help, change the fuel pump.
