Best Answer

If you have engaged the services of a funeral director then you should contact them. If your parent left specific wishes in connection with their funeral, it would be best not to change them and let their last wishes be carried out unless other circumstances prevent this, in this event discuss with the rest of your family and go with the general majority. If an existing spouse is still alive, then it would be up to them what happens.

Once the parent dies, the balance of the trust fund depends on the terms and conditions outlined in the trust document. It can be distributed to the named beneficiaries, such as other family members or charitable organizations, or it may be specified to be used for specific purposes, such as covering funeral expenses or paying off outstanding debts. The distribution would be carried out according to the instructions provided in the trust.
