Basically you don't. The voltage a motor can take is dependent on the gauge of the wire in the windings, and there's no way to change that w/o rebuilding the motor from scratch. What you can do if it's a smallier motor is to use a transformer to get the voltge right for the motor.
If the nameplate states 20 amps then that is the full load amperage when the motor is running. The start up current on the motor could reach 300% of the FLA depending on the type of motor and the load that is connected to the motor.
It will bolt right up if the original engine was a 230 cu. in. If it was the 292 cu. in. engine you will need to replace the passengers side frame mount. It will sit a little high on the original 230 cu. in. 6 frame mounts, but it will bolt in to the frame mounts and the transmission bell housing. You will need to change the exhaust system, radiator, carb linkage. You will need the V-8 brackets to mount the alternator and power steering if equipped.
You should not go above 240 volts for that type of motor.
