By disconnecting it from the tail piece and the piping on the outlet side of the trap
Depends if the "P" trap is soldered, screwed or glued
Depends if the "P" trap is brass, rubber, copper or PVC
water trap, vapor trap, P trap,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Plummers use all those, and everyone will know what you want. You need to know if its 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 inch.
The drain under a sink when it goes thru the wall instead of the floor. If looked at from the side, it would look like a P.
What is the minimum distance between the bottom of a sink and the trap attachment for a bathroom sink
No and yes. Amendment (not from a professional plumber!): If you were simply running the sink drain into the shower drain and if there was not a reduction in pipe size, I would think you would be able to do that. I think the reason you need a trap for the sink has to do with code that requires a trap be no more than 24" from the basin to the trap arm. That being said, the pedestal sink in my house does not have a trap until after it drains below the floor.
sometimes when I get bored it is fun
A trap spoon is what happens when you leave a spoon underneath the facet in a sink. When you turn on the sink water splashes up everywhere and is generally a huge wad of hard to deal with. A trap laid with a spoon.
Directly under each sink.
Directly under each sink.
They use a heat sink
Yes. It prevents sewer gases from entering by way of the water trapped at the elbow. Gases need an upflow which is eliminated by the P-Trap. It's not a pee trap, it's a p-trap. Yes you do need a p-trap. The p-trap holds some water in the trap to hold back the sewage gas from coming up through the sink. IN ADDITION: A P-trap can be used to unblock or unclog small blockages either in the drain pipe exiting the trap or the trap itself, because it holds water, by covering the plug, it works the same way as a plunger does and by squeezing it continuously it forms a suction drawing or pushing blockages, freeing them and pushing them further down the line until it is clear. It is useful to know when a plunger is not at hand.
Infinite. It doesn't affect it at all. Vertical distance doesn't have an affect on a trap.
If you know that the ring has not flushed into the main line, remove the p-trap from under the sink. The ring will most likely be in there. The p-trap is the u-shaped section of the drain pipe.
