How do you change shift boots in a 1994 Tercel?

Remove both front bucket seats..total of 8 bolts...remove both drivers and passenger

lower dash trim...some screws and bolts...some bolts hidden by small covers which can be popped out by a very small blade screwdriver...this will expose all hold downs for removal of the complete ctr console...do the rearward console first and tilt off and over the E brake handle...twist off the shifter knob...tilt out the forward section of the ctr console while pulling the old shifter boot strait up off the shifter...if there is any resistance then you missed a screw or bolt...turn the forward ctr console over and slide the shifter boot assembly off...reverse these directions to re--install...will take about an hour to do but no other way to do this correctly without breaking anything and you might find some precious coin...good luck
