You can't get survival mode in the free version of minecraft if by 'free' minecraft you mean 'classic' minecraft.
To get survival mode you must purchase minecraft on the minecraft website.
Well you can only do that if you updated to 1.3.1 but to switch game modes you do chat then '/gamemode Survival (name)' but you updated to 1.3.2 then it doesn't let you do that command anymore.
In survival mode you start with nothing and have to get all your resources by destroying blocks and killing things.
The first thing to do is punch trees.
Get some wood and make planks and sticks.
Make a crafting table and craft some tools.
The most important thing to do before nightfall is make a shelter, out of anything. It can even be a little man-made cave,
Dig for some coal too so you can make some torches.
There are lots of tutorials on YouTube and other places, including the Minecraft website, but this is basically what they tell you to do.
As time passes you can build better tools and weapons, a bigger house, start a farm, whatever you want to do...
For help on anything you can go to the Minecraft Wiki
When you make the minecraft world there sould've been an option called enable cheats if you enabled it then you can perform commands like changing weather or time. Type in the command by pressing the chat button(which will be shown in the controls part of your minecraft settings)and write
/gamemode creative (your username)
Done!
I’m not exactly sure what you mean “free Minecraft” but the only legal way to get survival mode in Minecraft is to buy the actual game and choose survival mode when making a world or by using the /gamemode survival Command.
You are always in survival mode in Minecraft Beta 1.3
First, you open the Minecraft file. Next, log yourself into your account. Then, click the Single player button. Create a new world, and play it.
You can't - flying is only available on Creative.
In the version that I play, you have to create a whole new world to switch. Sorry, but maybe you play a different/updated version.
just start a singleplayer game
You use it to gain experience points in creative mode, you can only get it in creative mode, but then you can switch to survival with cheats.
You need to turn cheats on and then press / and then type in gamemode c to switch to creative mode or gamemode s to switch to survival mode or gamemode a to switch to adventure mode
If you are the server owner (or can get the owners to change game mode or just yours) you can switch it to creative mode in the server conf file or by command in game by and op. otherwise a server in survival mode is staying in survival mode.
Yes. Time is the same in creative or survival.
Impossible. If you are in Creative Mode, you can not craft!!
with the "creative" button.
You can in Survival Mode, but not Creative Mode because in Creative, you have all the blocks and such you need, but in Survival, you don't get everything when you start. Hope the helped!
You can use a crafting table in creative mode just as you would use it in survival mode.
276 in survival mode. 322 in creative mode.
I would recommend you get the SinglePlayer Commands mod for Minecraft. It is very easy to install so don't worry about a difficult setup.
Play it in survival mode or creative mode. Don't press the multiplayer mode.
Build the map on Creative Mode then go to seedscope.net and upload your level.dat for the map on the Change Survival to Creative option. You should then download the new level.dat. Replace it with the old level.dat and when you start Minecraft, you should see that it is now a survival map.
