The computer... First see that your radio don't have the code thing set.Remove the RIGHT front wheel and then the front splash shield in the wheel weld.Remove the right headlight.Remove the horn or just bend it out of the way.You will see the two bolts that hold it on but don't unmount it yet. Remove the + positive battery cable. Unscrew the 7mm screws at the plug-in.One plug will be blue the other black.Remember where they go but they should be marked on the PCM. Now undo the 2 monting screws. It will slide down and out. They have software programed into them.Go to salvage yard or eBay,find one that came frome the same car with the same engine and you wont have to get it programed. In this case a 97-99 Cavalier has the same computer and software(with your engine size 2.2 or 2.4 you didnt say)When things are connected back like they were, start the car,it will immediately stall and go dead.DONT DO ANYTHING.. Leave the key ON..the theft system light will be flashing.Wait 10-15 mins. it will stop flashing but be lit.Turn off the car, wait 30 sec. start the car....you are good to go.
