which one? U-joints, Upper/Lower joints, Shaft joint. etc? have u ever change a joint, or replace any major parts, or work on vehicles? if not take it to repair shop. its too risky for an inexperience to work on vehicle. lost of life or limb can happen, lose your eye sight, hearing, etc.....

Remove the caps, bang out the u-joint with a hammer. It would help to know which u-joints you had in mind, because you might also need to know the process of removing the driveshaft (if those are the u-joints) or the axle half shafts (if those are the u-joints).

If the u-joint has never been changed you can't grease them because factory u-joints don't have grease alimites...you will have to change the u-joint. After market u-joints have alimites.
Normally there are constant velocity joints not u-joints.
There are 2 U joints on a 1999 Ford expedition. There is an U joints on each end of the driveshaft.
