Well, it needs alot of handy work , I had such problem few months ago ,
I own an Opel Vectra 1.8 twin cam , I hope it's the same , any way follow the following steps:
1 .Unscrew the right tyre , pull out the plastic shield over the tyre ,pullout main belt by loosen tensioning roll , use a 15mm spaner or socket on roll bolt and rotate it clockwise , you will need a help from someone to pull the belt out .
2 .Unscrew all necessary bolts (including 3 bolts of upper engine mount), so that the timing cover can be free for 2 10mm screws to be opened , pull out the timing cover .
3 .Pull out the timing belt by unscrewing timing tensioning roll as well.
4 . Look forward the engine from opened tyre point of view , you could see the pulley of the water pump a little to the left nearly close to alternator .
5 . Use Allen key of 10mm to unscrew the 3 bolts around circumference of water pump, PAY ATTENSION , WATER PUMP ACCEPTS NEARLY ANY ANGLE WHEN INSTALLED BACK , so mark the angle since water pump is rounded and not centric and may cause timing belt not installed again .
6 . Use sandpaper to clean water pump cavity .
7 . It would be better to use a thin film of sillicone thermal paste around cavity circuference.
8 Check the new water pump , and the rubber washer around it , install it on cavity carefully , try to press it into cavity by hand , then leave the rest to screws , never forget the mark .
9 . Reinstall timing belt and carryout timing adjustment , upper left cam pulley mark (intake mark) is up pointing to the plastic valve cover notch , right cam pulley mark (exhaustmark) , is pointing to another upper plastic cover notch , crank pulley is pointing to the needle .
Have fun
