Open up the rear hatch. On the very innermost edge of the taillight assembly that was under the closed hatch you will notice that there are two black, oval shaped covers approximately 1.25" high by .75" wide or 32mm by 20mm. Remove these small covers with a small flat screwdriver or other pointed implement and a screw will be found underneath each one. Remove both screws with a #2 Phillips screwdriver. With screws removed pull the entire plastic tail light housing straight outward towards the rear of the vehicle to release the outer retaining clips. The bulb sockets are removed by rotating counterclockwise 45 degrees and pulling out of the tail light housing.

If you look at the middle brake light, you'll notice two (2) notches on the left and right of the light. (This is looking at the brake light from the outside of the car, not the inside of the hatch.) Using a flathead screwdriver, pry the two screw covers off (they are plastic just like the rest of the brake light cover). Unscrew the screws and presto, you find the back to the light.
