Refill the coolant, start the engine, and check for leaks.

To change the coolant on a 2004 Volvo S80, first ensure the engine is cool, then locate the radiator drain plug at the bottom of the radiator and open it to drain the old coolant into a container. Next, remove the coolant reservoir cap and fill the system with a 50/50 mix of Volvo-approved coolant and distilled water, using a funnel to avoid spills. Run the engine with the heater on to circulate the new coolant, checking for any leaks, and top off as necessary.
