Remove the retaining cover from your factory stereo. Remove the factory stereo retaining bolts. Slide the factory stereo out. Remove the wiring harness and the antenna cable from the back of the factory stereo.

Remove the 2002 Dodge Durango factory stereo decorative cover. Remove the factory stereo retaining screws. Pull the factory stereo out. Remove the wiring harness and the antenna cable from the back of the stereo.
if your not going to use the old factory stereo, take it apart and you will find that the circit board is labled where it plugs in. Or go to your nearest stereo shop and get a wiring harness for $20.
Use a line out converter spliced into the rear speaker wires to connect RCAs to a sub amp.
you need to pop out the frame and unscrew the radio. You will need a wiring harness for an after market stereo.

who says you can't? I replaced the stereo myself on my 93 ford explorer with an aftermarket stereo with no problem.
