* Loosen the front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the car and support it securely on jackstands and remove the front wheels * Detach the brake hose bracket from the strut. If the car is equipped with ABS detach the speed sensor wiring harness from the strut by removing the clamp bracket bolt * Remove the strut to knuckle nuts and if nessary knock the bolts out with a hammer and punch * Separate the strut from the steering knuckle.Be careful not to overextend the inner CV joint dont let the knuckle fall outward as this may damage the brake hose * An assistant would be helpful at this point to hold the strut as the nuts are loosened.Remove the strut upper mounting nuts.Remove the assembly out of the fenderwell

How do you replace the front struts on Hyundai Sonata 2000 model?

To replace the front struts on a 2000 model Hyundai Sonata, you will first need to remove the tires. There will be 3 nuts on top of the strut mount. You will need to remove the 2 bolts that connect from the strut to the knuckle. Then you will need to remove the ABS sending unit as well as the front brake hose. Once these components are removed, you can remove the strut. In order to remove the strut, you will need a special tool to compress the spring. Once the struts are removed, you can safely replace them with new struts.

How hard is it to change 1986 Chevy cavalier front struts?

To change the front strut it is not hard at all. Simply remove the tire, remove the break, remove the bottom bolts from the strut. Then remove the top bolt from the strut. Usually takes about 20-40 minutes to remove. Replacing is very simple as well. However, the front strut replacement will require a front-end alignment to be completed.

Be sure to consult a manual before attempting any car repair. Locate the struts directly in front of the rear wheel well. Follow the brake hose from the wheel hub, and pull the strut assembly out of the bottom of the car. Disassemble the strut assembly, and replace the shocks and any other places showing wear. Reassemble the strut and replace it in the car.

Can you change the front strut springs on a 1995 Hyundai Accent if you have a parts car to swap pieces?

Hi, Just finished the front strut work on my 1998 Hyundai Accent Hatchback. Step 1: Take off the tire. Step 2: Unscrew the Caliper bolt near the bottom of the caliper (Make sure you get a block for the caliper to rest on) Step 3: Unscrew the 2 Strut Bolts holding the strut in place (Before you do that, take a screwdriver and mark where the strut was sitting for when you bolt it back on) Step 4: Unscrew the upper strut nuts (3 of them and they are under the Bonnet) Step 5:Take the strut assembly out. Step 6: Use a spring compressor to compress the spring until there is no force on the upper strut mount. Step 7: Unscrew the nut holding the upper strut mount in place with your Impact and take the mount off. Step 8: Take tension off of the old spring and put a new one on using the same technique. Other than that, you reverse these steps and your done!!

How do you change the shocks on a 1995 ford escort?

The front McPherson struts. The rears hardly ever need replacing. To change the strut you first jack up the car and put stands under it. Take the clip off holding the brake line to the strut. Move it aside. Then take the two bolts and nuts off the bottom of the strut. Then, take the 3 nuts off of the top of the strut from inside the engine bay. Life the strut out. Installation is the reverse of these steps. If you have this done you should have the front end aligned.
