On what bike? There might be a bolt to unscrew for the front brake, make sure the new lever abuts the hydraulic actuator correctly. For the rear lever: Mechanical brake, undo and remove the linkage from the lever. Remove the pivot bolt and withdraw the lever and return spring. Refit is the reverse, ensure all locking pins and springs are refitted. Hydraulic is different in that there is no linkage, a small pin acuates the hydraulic piston. Remove the pin connection and proceed as before.

How to...Install a Handbrake Handle

# Use a small circular saw or drill small holes along the shaft of the original handbrake handle. It has been pressure sealed but do not worry about drilling / cutting too deep as any marks on the metal handbrake shaft underneath will not be seen. # Use a sharp knife and run along the original cut to ensure a clean horizontal score along the handle. Using a flat-headed screwdriver, prise apart the casing and slide off the plastic handle towards the front of the car. # Insert new Handbrake boot over the length of the handle. Wrap a few layers of foam (available in art shops or we used packaging that rear lights were wrapped in) and gaffer tape to carefully pad-out and thicken the existing handle. # Insert the ZR adaptor over the button and then work the new handle over the handbrake, ensuring a tight and snug fit. # Sample releasing / applying the handbrake and ensure a minimum of 5mm of the button is exposed. Tighten 3 grub screws (1 large on top and 2 small left & right) sequentially in equal proportions to ensure a perfect centred fit.
