How to adjust the linkage on cable from steering column to transmission on a 1995 GMC Van?
Can adjust a self adjusting cable
pull off rubber cover over handbrake itself.adjust with 10 mm spanner.
Maybe on the top of the starter - follow the + battery cable it will connect to the starter relay (solenoid)
To adjust the transmission cable on a 1991 Chevy G20 van, first, locate the cable linkage on the transmission. Loosen the adjustment nut and pull the cable to achieve the desired tension. Ensure the throttle is fully closed, then tighten the adjustment nut while holding the cable in place. Finally, test the gear selection to confirm proper adjustment.
To adjust the cable, pull up the cable release at the rear of the throtle body and move the cable all the way to the rear, Then get inside the car and mash the accelerator all the way to the floor. This should adjust it.
Black goes to earth and red to starter relay
I believe it is adjustable from under the van. At the place where the bracket mounts to the tranny.
My Handbrake adjuster is situated on the left hand side (left hand drive van) just underneath van, where the handbrake is on floor. Jack up rear of vehicle, support both sides on axle stands. Apply handbrake 5 clicks, wheels should be locked at this point. If not, adjust nut on adjuster until wheels are both locking. Release brake, wheels should turn freely, no binding. Hope this helps.
