Note: You do not need any software to do this. To change your show desktop icon just copy this (below) into a New Text Document and save as New Text Document.scf. Next change the number 3 to any number from 0-17. Then save the document again. Double click on the New Text Document.scf and you will see that it works just like the show desktop button, if you followed the directions properly. Assuming you mean the "Show Desktop" button, you right click the start back and click "Properties" then check "Show Quick Launch".
The button is included by default in the Quick Launch menu. Simply right-click the taskbar and select Toolbars > Quick Launch.

Why would you want to do that. just right click and go to arange icons by and then go to show desktop icons uncheck that dektop icond will hide
When you insert a DVD is will show up either on the desktop as an icon or it will show up on the left in Finder. Simply drag the image and drop it on the icon. It will be copied to the DVD disc.
