To change Facebook Chat to default:
1. Go to the bottom right corner of the screen. Your friends list will pop up.
2. At the top right corner of the chat column there is an options button.
2. Click on the options button and determine your preferences for:
Go Offline
Pop Out Chat
Play sound for messages
Keep online friends window open
Show only names in online friends
If by default you mean not having a pop-out chat window, you may want to check that box and your chat will be inside your Facebook window. Click the options of the actions you would prefer.
