it is just about the same as a car. Under the bike you will see a nut to drain the oil. after you drain it then look for the filter through the front fairings. It is a little challenging to remove and then to replace it. All this is easier if you have a stand for your bike to lift it up and stabalize it. The amount of new oil you need to put in should be located around the side where you add it.
When you change the oil on a 2003 GSXR 600, you need 3.0 quarts of oil if you do not change the oil filter. If you change the filter, you need 3.3 quarts of oil.
Every 2000-3000km max, first change from new is 700-800km.

No you only change the filter when you change the oil.
If you are just doing an oil change then 3.3 quarts. If you are doing a complete overhaul where you are taking the engine covers off perhaps to change them or the gaskets then you need 3.8 quarts. This is directly out of the owners manual.
